[Help] What influences class points in NOTD?

Hello there.

A question that I've not been able to get an answer for, despite asking other players and going through the forums here and on NOTD, is what influences the gaining/loss of class points.

Is it not possible to gain Class Points when soloing?
If so, is there any way I can "give" myself a class point during a private/solo game (CE / Trainer / Other)?

My apologies if this seems a bit basic, as I'm new to the "Those who can, do. Those who can't, complain" scene! :redface:
