Apple has been rumored to release a budget, or as some prefer to say, entry-level iPhone alongside the iPhone 5S at the WWDC 2013 this year! Although we have seen our fair share of concepts of such a handset, we have yet to see any real leaks. Today this is all about to change, the folks over at Tactus have received an image that is allegedly the rear shell of the rumored budget iPhone.
By analyzing the image you can see that it is a polycarbonate shell, very different to the iPhone 5′s sleek aluminum look, but it should allow for Apple to offer a wide range of colors that should include Black, White, Blue, Red and Yellow.

According to Tactus
“the shell measures in at 0.4-0.6mm thick, however the actual phone might be around 9mm thick, 120mm in height and around 62-65mm in width, which means it’s likely both taller and wider than the iPhone 4/4s!”

We are not done yet!
Apparently a source familiar with the matter has also heard that the budget iPhone will have an A5 processor, like the iPad Mini, and also a 3.5-inch Retina Screen. This would allow Apple to save money on the display and offer the handset at a lower price than if it featured a 4-inch display like the iPhone 5. Furthermore, it will feature a 5MP camera, just like theiPhone 4.
Tactus thinks the budget iPhone will cost around $300 and will go on sale October 15th. Although the price seems believable, the release date goes against other reports we have seen. It will be interesting to see what Apple does, but in the mean time, if the budget iPhonehad the specs discussed, would you be interested?
